High volume lifting needs during a critical shutdown
At Huntsman, Hoist International managed lifting equipment from a staffed on-site container. Rental software and barcode scanning ensured safe handling, full traceability and accurate cost control.

The challenge
During a planned shutdown at Huntsman’s Rotterdam plant, multiple subcontractors required fast access to certified lifting equipment. Every item had to be linked to both the company and individual user, making safety, traceability and cost control essential.
The vision
The goal was a scalable on-site solution with real-time tracking that simplified logistics and helped minimise downtime, while meeting the strict safety standards of a petrochemical environment.
The solution
Hoist International deployed a staffed on-site equipment container for issuing and returning lifting tools. Each item received a unique rental ID and was tracked using customised rental software and barcode scanning.
Equipment was registered to both the subcontractor and individual user. Daily reports provided full visibility, supported accurate cost allocation and helped prevent loss or misuse.

The result
The on-site container and our service streamlined equipment flow, prevented unnecessary rentals and reduced costs.
Smart software, robust logistics and on-site expertise gave Huntsman full control. Resulting in a safer, more efficient shutdown.
